The classic Churchill Sofa drew inspiration from the iconic Chesterfield design. Though the Chesterfields were beautiful in their own right, Winston Churchill (1874) was of the opinion that they were not the most comfortable of sofas. Hence, Churchill committed himself to amend some elements of the former Chesterfield design which eventually led to the creation of the highly sought-after Churchill Sofa. Churchill’s aspiration was materialised by conflating his own requisites with the elegance of Chesterfield. The amendments included a distinguishable angle at the back of the sofa along with its relatively lowered arm rests to provide a higher level of comfort while maintaining its ritzy style.
